Mini Mental State Exam

i-Human Patients is a tool for medical students to practice and develop their diagnostic skills through virtual simulation. The students are assigned cases to work on with a virtual patient. One of the features of the Case Player is that it allows the students to ask their patient questions and perform exams. Previously, the mini mental state exam was a list of questions and a score at the bottom. It was not interactive.

The challenge posed was to design an interactive way for the student perform the exam as well as aid in memorizing the questions.

I designed the new mini mental state exam feature for the existing Case Player. I was inspired from when I used flashcards to study in school. To prevent students from mindlessly clicking through the questions, I added an "Ask Patient" button and they can keep track of the patient's score at the bottom. To aid in memorization, I labeled the questions with their respective categories.
